Woodstock Telephone Co. along with its
subsidiaries K-Communications and Woodstock LLC , are
an independently owned company. We pride ourselves
in offering affordable service along with all the modern
features. We have dedicated employees that give that
extra amount of service that a large company can not
give.
In 1942, Woodstock Telephone Company was ran by
Bernard Knuth. As time passed, he purchased the
towns of Garvin, Holland, Ruthton and Russell. In
1954, the town of Woodstock got an Electric Leich
Board System, where all of the customers were able
to us a rotary dial telephone, and did not have to
go through the switchboard operator, Rosetta Knuth.
Woodstock Telephone Company purchased the town of
Ruthton in 1957. Ruthton was the first in the state
of Minnesota to have “all”underground buried cable.
In 1976, a new LXP4, Leich Switchboard was
installed, party lines were eliminated and everyone
had their own private line.
In 1995, a new AT&T, 5ESSVCDX switch was installed
into the Ruthton Building, which was capable of
running all exchanges from one location.
In 2008, a new MG2510 MetaSwitch will be installed
in the Ruthton host office.
